Cinnaholic is a local favorite with its welcoming atmosphere and mouth-watering, handcrafted (and vegan!) cinnamon rolls. We talked to the owner, Kaleen Barbera, for a look into the shop’s story.

@properties Christie’s International Real Estate:  When was Cinnaholic-Naperville created?

Cinnaholic: We opened our doors in January of 2020.

@properties Christie’s International Real Estate: What is the back story to opening Cinnaholic-Naperville? 

Cinnaholic: I’ve been a resident of Naperville since 2012 and just love the downtown area.  When I came across the Cinnaholic brand, I knew that Naperville would be a perfect place to open one of the franchise’s locations.

@properties Christie’s International Real Estate: What is your favorite cinnamon roll? 

Cinnaholic:  I absolutely love our Berry Cheesecake Roll! This roll has cream cheese frosting, fresh blueberries and raspberries, raspberry jam and graham cookies. (Our mouths are watering!)

@properties Christie’s International Real Estate: What was the inspiration for Cinnaholic-Naperville? 

Cinnaholic: It’s one of the few (if not only) pure vegan franchises out there. Having a huge sweet-tooth and also having gone vegan about 6 years ago, when I couldn’t find any good vegan, dairy, and egg-free desserts or baked goods options, I felt that this was an opportunity to fill a market gap.

@properties Christie’s International Real Estate: What is your favorite part of owning Cinnaholic-Naperville?

Cinnaholic:  Being able to provide cruelty-free and absolutely delicious products to a wonderful market and community. It’s really been a fantastic experience.
