@ The Market: Fall 2021 Update

2021 has been a wild year in residential real estate. In the newest installment of @ The Market, @properties co-CEOs Thad Wong and Mike Golden talk about opportunities in this fall market.

At the beginning of the episode, they discuss what the return to a more normal, seasonal market means for today’s buyers and sellers. While the market is moderating this fall, they note that it’s still much stronger than in years past.

On the topic of pricing, Wong explains why it’s so important for sellers to set an accurate list price from the get-go. He also gives his take on Lincoln Park’s 20% increase in average single-family home prices, and whether the benchmark Chicago neighborhood is overheated or has room to grow.

Turning their attention to Chicago’s Near North, Wong and Golden talk about the state of the market and if there will ever be a better time to buy a condo in the Gold Coast, River North, or Streeterville.

To wrap things up, they discuss whether this fall will be the last hurrah for the second-home boom and share their key takeaways for the rest of 2021.
